Encírtidos (Hymenoptera: Encyrtidae) of agricultural importance in Mexico

Synopsis

The study of the encírtidos is relevant for its great use in the Biological Control of Plagues: Encyrtidae is the second family of parasitic wasps with greater number of successes worldwide. This has meant a significant saving of economic resources for decades. Previously, there was no book in Spanish in Mexico that dealt with taxonomic and biological aspects of the Encyrtidae Family. Further. This volume can be used in Spanish-speaking countries more easily. The selected species have different levels of economic importance for agriculture in Mexico. Most of the pests they control also exist in other countries. The present text was designed to be used by students, technicians and specialists. It contains extensive bibliographic reviews, in addition to original information. The Research Center of the UAM Agronomy and Science 10 distributes in the libraries of the main schools of Agronomy and Biology of Latin America.
